Rockland Rockets Basketball

Coach Dave Toomey has been coaching and playing Basketball for over 20+ years and has also Coached Baseball, Soccer & Football.  He brings his experience to each team he coaches and mentors his players.  Coach Toomey has One year of playing for the Rockland County CYO Senior Div. Men’s Leagues. He also has coached for the Rockland County CYO Senior Division from 1978 to 1983; CYO Grade school Div 1984 to Present; Rockland Rockets Boys division for a number of years and various age groups – 8^th, 9^th, 10^th and 5^th . Coach Toomey was awarded Rockland County CYO Service award in 2008. Coach Toomey says his love of coaching is plain and simple, “The Children! I love being with them.” My philosophy is simple: You’re good enough to make the team, your good enough to play... On my teams everyone plays.  A Coaches job is to bring the player to the next level. Not to win the game at all cost.  You must go for the win and do what is right for the Player! Period! What motivates Coach Toomey in coaching Basketball…? “I lost my Father when I was 8 years old, one of the few memories I have of him is Officiating, Coaching and playing Basketball.  Who doesn’t want to be like their Dad?”
